EXEC SP_Who
KILL 55
EXEC sp_dboption "WSS_Search_www", "single user", "false"
failed in event OnBackup. For more information, see the error log located in the backup directory. SqlException: Login failed for user This is a discussion on The database is not accessible (Explorer) - sqlserver-server ; I did a restore for a production backup into a development database for testing purposes. After the restore, when I log into the server using the application login (sql server login) it can not find the database. When I go ...
SQL Server 2005 database into single-user mode using Management Studio in an attempt to force a restore over the existing database.
But now I can"t access the database. I get these errors: When first clicking the database in the tree: "The database ___ is not accessible ( Explorer)" Then if I try to right-click on the database and view Properties, I get a longer message ending with: "Database "__" is already open and can only have one user at a time. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 924)." But I was the user who put the database into single-user mode, and that"s the same user that comes up in the "1 Active Connection" box when I go to Detach the database (not to really detach but to see what the connection is). So I don"t know why it won"t let me perform any actions on the database. Finally, I tried:ALTER DATABASE ___SET MULTI_USER But I get the error: "Msg 5064, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Changes to the state or options of database "___" cannot be made at this time. The database is in single-user mode, and a user is currently connected to it. Msg 5069, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 ALTER DATABASE statement failed." Does anyone know how to revert a database to Multi-User mode in SQL Server 2005?
- Use SP_Who to find the session ID of the active connection to the database
- Use KILL <session id> to terminate the connection.
- Then do the Alter Database command you tried.
Error: failed in event OnBackup… Operating system error 3 when running MOSS Backup/Restore
MOSS
Been digging deeper into MOSS backup’s and came across the following error when trying to do a backup in MOSS central administration.
“Error: MOSSContent failed in event OnBackup. For more information, see the error log located in the backup directory. SqlException: Cannot open backup device ‘c:\mossbu\spbr00040000018.bak’. Operating system error 3(error not found).”
BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally. Found quite a lot of articles relating to assigning security rights to the backup folder and sharing it out which I followed, but this still did not stop the errors. Then I came across this suggestion to use a UNC path for the location of the backup and voila – issue sorted. backup is failing on wss 3.0 site. the backup logs shows errors similar to this: [10/22/2007 4:32:27 PM]: Verbose: [WSS_Search_SERVER] SQL Server Command:BACKUP DATABASE [WSS_Search_SERVER] TO DISK=@db_loc WITH NAME=@db_name, STATS=5, NOINIT, NOSKIP, NOFORMAT, NOREWIND @db_name=WSS_Search_SERVER, @db_loc=X:\Sharepoint\full_oct21_2007\spbr0001\00000010.bak [10/22/2007 4:32:27 PM]: Error: WSS_Search_SERVER failed in event OnBackup. For more information, see the error log located in the backup directory. SqlException: Cannot open backup device "X:\Sharepoint\full_oct21_2007\spbr0001\00000010.bak". Operating system error 3(The system cannot find the path specified.). BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally. i have set sharing on the backup folder so that sharepoint service account, sharepoint application pool account and sharepoint content accounts have Change access. those 3 accounts are set in security with full control. what am i missing? the same issue happens with stsadm backup. my wss databases are hosted on another server running sql server 2005 enterprise. this problem did not occur when i had the default installation of wss. i see the following in the application log: Event Type: Error Event Source: Windows SharePoint Services 3 Event Category: Timer Event ID: 6398 Date: 10/22/2007 Time: 4:32:34 PM User: N/A Computer: servername Deion: The Execute method of job definition Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.Backup.SPBackupR
